Our Founder

Our founder, E.M. McChrystal, brings more than three decades of dedicated service across military, local, and federal law enforcement disciplines, with a career grounded in investigation, evidence, and behavioral science. Her professional foundation began in Military Police and Psychological Operations, followed by service as a police officer and evidence technician, experiences that shaped her practical, evidence-driven approach to complex cases. She went on to build a 20-plus-year career as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), working a broad spectrum of investigations, including international and domestic terrorism, financial crimes, and major criminal matters.

Ms. McChrystal also led a team of FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) Coordinators, a collaborative role focused on educating investigators on BAU capabilities, facilitating access to FBI behavioral and analytical resources, and supporting multidisciplinary case strategy. Holding a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology, she brings a rare combination of investigative experience, behavioral insight, and systems-level knowledge of federal tools and resources. This background uniquely positions Cold Case Resource Group to provide informed analysis, strategic guidance, and practical resource navigation for cold case investigations, in service of both law enforcement agencies and victim families.
